My journey with Jeannette through counselling is the most profound and transformative experience I’ve ever had. From the cozy confines of meeting rooms, she helped me explore the universe within me. We began with preparation, like adventurers setting out into the unknown, to make sure I had the mental fitness and safety measures before exploring uncharted emotional landscapes. There was no map, no timetable, because this journey wasn’t about reaching a destination. It was about the experience of discovery, of feeling, of being. Jeannette has been my guide, showering me the beauty within and around me. At times, she was like a distant North Star, shining from afar, gently pointing the way. Other times, she rode with me, sailed with me, flew with me, diving and paragliding through the peaks and valleys of my inner world. Always with kindness, empathy and encouragement.

This journey has awakened something within me – a deeper awareness, a more conscious way of living. I’ve learned how to truly connect with my emotions and to be in touch with the feelings of others. More importantly, I’ve learned how to take care of myself mentally, and in doing so, how to better care for the people around me. There’s still so much more to explore, but I am embracing this newfound understanding with gratitude, curiosity and love.

When I was searching for a therapist and came across Jeannette’s profile, something just clicked.. I intuitively knew I wanted to work with her.

From the moment I stepped into that first session, I had a good feeling that something positive would come out of it. Over the course of five months, even though it was just eight sessions and about ten hours in total, the journey we shared was truly meaningful.

Jeannette created a safe space for me to express myself, and in that space, she helped me reconnect with my authentic self. Her support, encouragement, and guidance through tough emotions and challenges made all the difference.

I attended a Strengths Workshop that Jeannette had conducted at Republic Polytechnic where she instilled a changed perspective in the way we see and what we know about strengths. The workshop made me realise the importance of not only working on our weaknesses but also the strengths that we had already acquired in our daily lives.

What I really loved was how engaging she was throughout the entire workshop by constantly encouraging and giving each of us the chance to share our own experiences and views. She also explained everything well. Despite the workshop being after school, I felt energised the entire time just by participating and listening to her 🙂

Furthermore, she had set a 14-day challenge for us to do if we wanted to and she did and continued with the challenge together. Sometimes, she even replied to what we had written to encourage and motivate us further. That challenge gave me the habit of reflecting on my day and feeling accomplished when I noticed how I use my strengths to help myself grow and also help the people around me everyday.

Also, since I knew Jeannette before the workshop itself through her TikTok Chillbynette and being a part of her Chill Community, Jeannette has helped me out a lot and I feel that both in person and online, she gave the same awesome vibe! 😀

Ms Jeannette had went above and beyond while I was in therapy sessions with her. I’ve been following Jeannette’s Chill By Nette for a while now, and I’m consistently impressed by her approach. She adeptly discusses #selfawareness, #grounding, and #emotionalregulation through bite-sized videos that are accessible to anyone. Her content exudes a laid-back, modest, and homey feel, instantly putting audiences at ease.

One particular video that stands out to me is “What do you do when things start to get overwhelming.” As a creative educator, I frequently encounter young professionals in the creative field who struggle with feelings of overwhelm and the risk of burnout. What they don’t need is a know-it-all offering motivational speeches.

When a Chill by Nette video appears in my feed, it’s always a welcome reprieve. Jeannette’s content provides a refreshing break from the usual noise.

Thanks CBN and the close community for this challenge. Although I had joined late something that I learnt from previous challenges, AMAs, chill circles is to prioritize my own wellbeing over other things. Over the past few months I have decluttered my digital processes, limited my information intake from social media (hence my absence from the AMAs) held my space and basically put myself first which was something that was really difficult for me to do the last time. I am grateful for the community for reading my sharings, cheering me on with your emoticons.

CBN, this is a really nice and cozy community that you’ve created and I am grateful for all of your sharings as well, or just by being here, you have shown your support. So thank you.

Thanks @Chillbynette for organizing the challenge. I personally enjoyed it throughly – primarily for reflecting on my own and what I wanted for the day and secondly for reading other people’s challenge. Finally, I have picked up a healthy habit. 

I am so grateful to everyone in this group chat for motivating me to be part of this challenge. 

I have enjoyed it so much that I am going to keep on and noting down my desires for each day in my journal. I feel it’s a healthy habit to pick up.

Jeannette is very patient with me, understanding my emotions, and what I’m going through and feeling. She feels and connects with me deeply, asking insightful questions that help me uncover why I feel uneasy in certain situations. I love having Jeannette as my therapist. She’s the best. I’m always looking forward to our sessions a lot. She makes me feel happy and valid.. always hyping me up when I tell her something. Honestly I was always sceptical about counselling based on prior experience. Counselling Pers and Jeannette have been pretty good at proving me wrong and frankly I have seen a difference in myself. There isn’t any fairness in quantifying how much but a difference is a difference nonetheless which I am beyond grateful for. Enjoyed the warm up exercise, quite cool tho never seen anyone do this before. Enjoyed I am, I can and I will statements. This let us sit down and think about what are the statements we can do. Enjoyed strengths section, we tend to forget our strengths due to the busy times but it’s a good reflection that we had, so we know we are having certain strengths at certain points of life.
